My name is Rich Criebaum and I have been in the music industry for twenty+ years.
I started as the bass player for the modern rock band MeshSTL (later named Modern Day Zero). I have played on thousands of stages around the world; from amphitheaters to hole-in-the-wall dive clubs, but I found my true passion for music in the recording studio. This profound love for the recording process led me to start a recording studio called ‘Trailer Studios’ with a former band mate and good friend. I pursued my dream there for fifteen years working countless hours perfecting my craft. It was in that time that I earned the moniker “Magic Man” for my ability to transform mediocre recordings into melodic masterpieces.
In the ever-changing climate of the music industry, more and more bands are taking a budget-friendly or DIY approach to the recording process. Unfortunately, while this is understandable, mixing tends to get neglected by the “band on a budget”, but it is one of the most important steps in the process.
WHY is it important, you may ask? To answer that, let me tell you a story.
I remember the early days…being in a band and recording in a big studio. We were finished tracking so the engineer threw up the faders and printed a mix for our debut album. There was ZERO thought or effort put into the mixing process. Our songs sounded stagnant and linear, but we didn’t have the budget for a real mix. At that stage in our career though we were just so excited to hear our music playing through loudspeakers that we made excuses for the way that it sounded. It was quite embarrassing, and it got me thinking. A band or artist should be able to play their art for friends, fans and family and have them hear the music, not a terrible mix.
That’s where I come in. I have made it my mission to offer a budget-friendly way to take your music to the next level. Whether you recorded in your basement, or you tracked everything in a high-end studio and ran out of cash, you can trust Magic Man Mixing to provide you with a finished mix for a FLAT FEE.
The best part about it? My job isn’t finished until you are happy.
